On Love and JealousyOn Love and JealousyOn Love and Jealousy
In a dream, I saw Two blazing heads, and eyes transfixed On the eyes of the other as their bodies lay Entwined, two serpents, shuddering, clawing, Grappling, consuming its twin, consumed in turn. Wrought from desires of contrary natures, neither prevailed, nor rested.
And conscious thought dissipated them as like a wind Through a fog of specters. or as light banishing the darkness of a room That one has furnished yet rarely enters. In my dream the serpents vanished, yet always returned As vapor from an ever-burning candle.
